Erica's My Cricut Craft Room January Card Challenge!

Hello friends! I decided to participate in the January Card Challenge on My Cricut Classroom. We were "challenged" to use the colors pink, brown and red and also use the sketch Erica provided to design our card.

I LOVE Pink and Brown together and adding a touch of red sure sounded like a Valentine to me...so here is my take on the challenge!

To make the card shape, I started with my wonderful and brand new

Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge. This was my first opportunity to use this cartridge and

I LOVE IT ALREADY!!

The card base was the Card feature button on page 58.

I also used the Art Philosophy cartridge for the swirl at the bottom of the heart. It was on page 60 and it was the "font" layer, even though it is not a letter! Using my Gypsy, I welded two of the swirls (using the mirror image feature) to make the longer swirl.

I used the Wedding/Marriage Cricut cartridge for the heart with the swirl . For the design along the left side, I used the Birthday Cake cartridge and used the and layered with on page 69. I again used my Gyspy to elongate the shape.

Using the Cuttlebug and the Swiss Dots embossing folder, embossed the brown base and then added some small pink brads along the top right side.

This was my first time to enter one of Erica's Card Challenges! Let me know your thoughts!
