Just a quick little post today to share one of the most difficult cards to make - a Sympathy Card.
This one is for my niece for the passing of her sweet dog. Pets are so much a part of our lives and our families and it is just as hard losing a pet as it is any other family member or cherished friend.
This was a simple card to put together. I selected the Cricut Lite Cartridge Four Legged Friends
and found the cute heart with paw print and thought that was an appropriate image.
I cut the heart at 3 1/2 inches along with all the layers. My niece's dog was a female, so I chose to use pinks and purples as the color choices.
From Elegant Edges, I cut the scalloped mat, which I felt tied in with the scalloped heart.
I embossed that using the Cuttlebug and the Sizzix Embossing folder called "Swirls with Waves".
I used foam mounting squares to pop the heart up a little bit off the flat base of the card.
I added a computer typed "With Sympathy" tag to the front of the card:
Then added a simple message that I typed on the computer for the inside as well:
There you have it! I just wanted to show a project that was not a design team project and to show you can put together a quick card that may bring some comfort to someone in no time.
