Scrapbook Friday once again!

Time for my weekly post with My Cricut Craftroom and it is once again Scrapbook Friday!

Today Erica asked that the scrapbook theme be Kids. Well, since I have some incredibly cute
Grandchildren, (not that I am biased or anything!) I decided to once again feature them in my layout! I happened to have some photos of the kids from last Easter and just knew they would make a great layout!

I had this design in mind and then Erica posted a sketch layout that was almost exactly like my idea! So I am entering it in the My Cricut Craftoom Scrapbook Challenge. You can see the information for that right here if you want to participate in the March Scrapbook Challenge!

For my layout, I selected the following cartridges to use: Celebrate With Flourish, Art Philosophy,
Plantin School Book, Winter Woodland, A Child's Year and From My Kitchen.

That was a lot of cartridges for one layout!

Right hand page of layout.

You will notice I made a couple layers of my grass on each side of the page so that I could tuck the bunnies and the Easter Eggs in - just like they were hiding in the grass waiting to be found.

I used the Art Philosophy Cartridge to cut the base for my title and used
puffy light green letters for the wording. Did you notice how I snuck the
date in on the eggs in the lower right hand page?

I added some Liquid Pearls that I got from Erica's Shop at http://www.shop.ericascraftroom.com.

She has excellent pricing and always seems to have some great products on sale!!

I used a lot of foam squares to give dimension to the project.

I am very pleased with how it turned out and happy to have another layout completed!

This year, Little Lainey will be able to get in on the Egg Hunt as well and I am sure it
will be a lot of fun for all of them! I only wish we didn't live so far away and celebrate holidays
and special occasions with them!

Thank you for visiting today and I hope this sparked your interest in getting some layouts of children in your life completed - whether it is of your own kids, grand kids, nieces/nephews or friend's children! I think making scrapbook layouts for kids is such fun!

Please visit My Cricut Craftroom to see even more fun projects on this Scrapbook Friday!

I appreciate your comments!!

Scrapbook Friday!

Hello And Happy Friday!
It's Friday and that means it is SCRAPBOOK FRIDAY at My Cricut Craftroom. My assignment for today was to make a scrapbook page using the pastel colors of Yellow and green and one other color. My color choice....PINK! Pink is still my favorite color but interestingly YELLOW was my favorite color for years.
I decided to use Ribbons and Rosettes and Elegant Edges for the main Cricut images on my pages. I did a 2 page spread featuring a very Large Rosette on the right hand page and then framed that with circular shapes from Elegant Edges. I double matted my photo as well also using Elegant Edges and used foam squares (purchased from My Cricut Craftoom as well).
For the smaller rosettes on the left hand page, I used the same cut as the large rosette and made them on a much smaller scale. I topped each of them with layered pink and yellow buttons and threaded the buttons with Doodlebug Twine that I purchased from the Erica at shop.mycricutcraftroom.com.

The letters for my title were cut from Plantin Schoolbook and I used my Gyspy to weld the letters together. I decided I wanted to mat my title on something ....and found the perfect cut for that on the Art Philosophy cartridge! I had to alter the size to fit my lettering and had to be careful to not make it too large for where I wanted the words to sit on my page. I used a white gel pen to make cute little dots on each letter. They mimic the cute polka dots on the ribbon I used through the center of the page.

Who are those ADORABLE CHILDREN in the photos, you ask? Those cuties are my grand children - Cooper, Aubrey and Lainey! The picture was taken almost a year ago! But they are just as cute and have grown so much in the past year!

I had a lot of fun making this scrapbook layout and I do hope you like it too!

I love comments...and you don't have to fight with the pesky "word verification" to be able to leave a comment here! Would love to hear from you!

Card Creating Tuesday!

Hello All My Crafty Friends!
I am happy to be sharing a card with you for Card Creating Tuesday on
My Cricut Craftroom.
Today's assignment was to make an Easter Card using the colors pastel yellow, green and one other color. Seeing that PINK is my favorite color - - and it goes so well with shades of pastel yellow and green, how could I resist?

I decided to use the Art Philosophy Cartridge (this has to be one of my all time favorite cartridges!) and the Celebrate with Flourish cartridge.
The egg shape was made from card feature on Art Philosophy. I cut the bunny and the grass
with swirls and flowers all from Celebrate With Flourish, using all the layers. I cut a second set of the layer to make the pink flowers and just trimmed them off and glued them on.
I had some very old Queen and Company flowers and tiny brad sets in my stash and was lucky enough to find the perfect size for the very centers of the flowers.
I added a fuzzy tail pom pom and a ribbon on the bottom. Used some ink around the edges of everything and I was good to go!
A very quick and simple card, but I am very pleased with how it came out!

I am so happy you stopped by to visit! To see more projects by my fellow design team members, please go to visit
I LOVE to read your comments....please let me know you stopped by!
Have a great week!
I am also linking up to the Link Up Party at
And entering this card into the
CARD CHALLENGE at
where we were to work with this Sketch that Erica created for us!!
Here is the sketch you should use and the same colors that we have used all month.
I decided to stay with the same colors for most of the month that way if you buy paper for one project you do not have to keep buying more paper, you might be able to use the scraps. Each month will follow the same format of using that month's colors for all of the challenges. You have a week to link up your card.

This week the prize will be a $25 gift certificate to my store....

For todays projects, I was to pick 3 different Cricut cartridges to use and my choices were
Sugar and Spice (Cricut Lite), Four Legged Friends and Paper Lace.
Let's start first with Paper Lace.

I made a gift card for my niece's bridal shower using Paper Lace. Her wedding color is blue ...and the blue she has for the bridesmaids is cobalt. I used the most dark blue color I had
on hand, which when making it the night before you are going out of town for the shower doesn't allow much time
for running out to buy the correct color!
(Hummmmm, another reason I NEED an Imagine??)

I cut the Congrats Paper Lace out of Black paper and layered it on a white background. Really makes it stand out!
Very simple but I still think it was a pretty gift enclosure card!

My second project was made using Sugar and Spice Cricut Lite. It will be a card for my Granddaughter Alaina, who we call Lainey. She will turn two in March! Boy does the time fly by!!
Lainey is a cute little blonde and wears pig tails frequently so when I saw this little girl image I thought it would be perfect! I used Sheer Shimmer Spritz in "sparkle" on the little girls collar (purchased the Spritz from Erica's shop if you "need" some for yourself! I did a lot of foam dots to pop her up from the base, and embossed the base paper with my Cuttlebug. I used rubber stamps to make a gift and Happy Birthday balloon.
The frame around the base of the card was cut from
Elegant Edges.
I added purple ribbon to each pig tail for an added touch!
I hope she will like her little card!

For my third and final project on today's hop, I made a card featuring
Four Legged Friends and used Paper Lace on it as well!
I started my making the bottom base out of black then layering it with a cut from Elegant Edges out of a really cool green shimmer paper.
I cut the cat from
Four Legged Friends, using not only all the layers they provide on the cartridge, but because I
was attempting to make it look similiar to my cat Oliver, I went a step further and layered more colors on the tail to give it stripes. Although Ollie is a half white, half grey tiger cat, the cut didn't give me much freedom for trying to make more stripes on the majority of the body. I did what I could!
This shot seems to show the green shimmer paper better.
I used Paper Lace to cut the band of ovals that I balanced the kitty on top of.
I hope you can see a bit of the shimmer in both the green paper and the silver paper is metalic with a shine to it as well..
I cut the word "meow" with the ball of yarn and layered the silver on top of black, also from the Four Legged Friends cartridge.
For the eyes, I used the I -Rock and attached the green gems which really sparkle in person!
Here is a picture of Oliver in person. He doesn't like his picture taken, but you can see has a lot of white fur and then the tiger stripes!

I hope you have enjoyed my 3 projects!
Erica is giving away some great Blog Candy...so please visit my Design Team sisters and have fun
