Christmas Card post 3

Hello again! If this is your first visit to see the Christmas cards please scroll down and start at the first post reguarding Christmas cards. Seems I am getting very lucky today with blogspot and it is allowing me to load photos and the post with very little trouble!
I am now showing you the light blue cardstock cards. For whatever reason, this paper gave me a hard time in wanting to cut cleanly. I do not recall what brand it was, just something I've had in my stash for a while.
Click on any photo to enlarge it to see it better.

I thought it may be interesting to try a tone on tone/ White on White card. I used the shimmer blue as a shadow for the sentiment and as the backgroud snowflake. I like the effect! I only made one of these however.

Finally, I decided to be very "different" and try a pink snowflake card! I used a lovely pinkish/rose colored paper that has the same shimmer as the dark blue card I made. I love the way it looks but wasn't sure what many other people would think so I only made a couple of these! My daughter in law and my oldest granddaughter (who is 2 1/2) LOVE pink so one of these is heading their way for Christmas!

Do you like cards/decorations that are not "traditional"? Let me know your thoughts!

Christmas card post 2

I know these posts are showing up in a backward order...but if you scroll down and read my first "Christmas Card 2010" post, you'll see why this is happening.
This card is following the same plan as I listed in the previous post, only the background snowflake is made from Die Cuts With A View Glitter paper in a light blue. I LOVE that glitter paper, but on the Cricut Expression it must be cut with max pressure and using the multicut function. I neglected in my last post (after retyping the posts several times over several days, you would think I would remember it all) to list the Cricut Cartridges I used. I used Joys of the Season for the snowflake image and Winter Woodland for the Peace sentiment!
I hope that you can see and appreciate the glitter look and the embossed snowflakes.
Love to hear your thoughts!

Christmas Cards for 2010

I am hoping the third time is a charm! For 3 days, I have written my posts, added photos and
attempted to load onto my blog, but it just wouldn't let me. The most frustrating thing...as I tried to upload numerous times each day, every time it ended with deleting my entire post! ERRRGH!!! So I am actually going to divide this post into several smaller parts...so please be patient but please read several posts to get to all my cards!
This is the first time I have made my Christmas cards and the first time I have made so many cards of one design! If you are on my Christmas card list and want to be surprised when it arrives in the mail, please do not read any further! For those who plan to continue on.... I hope you like my card design!
I used the same design for each of my cards, just did a little variation of colors. This first post I am showing the card that I made the most of. I am using a dark blue shimmer paper for the background of snowflake as well as the mat. I used the Cuttlebug to emboss the snowflakes on the mat and used pop up glue dots to give a bit of dimension to the card. I used the same dark blue paper to make the shadow of the sentiment "Peace" layered with white cardstock. I put a ribbon around the mat and attached the sentiment on the ribbon! I used my I Rock tool to add a bit of sparkle and bling with a "diamond" gem in the center of each snowflake.
Here is the final result! I'd love to hear your comments!

Another Thanksgiving card...just a bit late in posting!

Hello there!
Sorry for the delay in posting... with the holidays coming up, I've been trying to do some decorating as I am able to (doing it on one foot isn't so easy!) doing some on line shopping (easier than going out on crutches alone!) and working on my Christmas cards!

I am finally posting another Thanksgiving card that I made. I used the Thanksgiving Cartridge, popped the pilgrams up on foam squaress ( I know you can't see that from the photos, but it gave it a very nice effect!).
I'm not sure if I should post my Christmas cards before I send them out - don't want to ruin the surprise for any of you who may be "on my list"!
I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving and are enjoying the December holiday rush!  It's just too darn cold for me!
