Las Vegas Mini Album in a Jar!

Hello and Welcome to Would You Ever Guess Wednesday!
Today, those of us on the Design Team at My Cricut Craftroom  are assigned to make a project using keys in the Cricut handbooks that are NOT the featured keys.  It is a great way for all of us to discover what amazing cuts the Cricut Cartridges have to offer. For today's particular assignment, Erica, the owner of My Cricut Craftroom, also added another requirement which was to use a Rosette in today's project.
I was lucky enough to travel to Las Vegas a few months ago and I thought it would be fun to make a little mini album with some of the photos of the sites I saw in Vegas.  I  decided to make something that could be used as Home Decor as well as an album, so I created an Album in A Jar!
I started out with an empty jar and several sets of dice along with a Las Vegas photo holder.

To get in my required rosette, I did that first of all.  I knew I wanted that to decorate the top of my jar.
I cut two strips of the black and white striped paper at 1.5 inches by 12 inches. Using a border punch by Stampin' Up, I created the decorative border cuts.  I then scored them every 1/4th of an inch and folded them on the score lines.   I joined the ends of the two strips together and created the rosette.  I did not attempt to take photos of this process, especially since I am usually having enough fun getting it together by myself as it is!  I glued the rosette onto a circle to hold it together and then used hot glue to attach the dice on the top of it.
Here is a close up of the folded rosette with a good view of how the border punch looks.

Now that the top of my jar is complete, I will tell you about the inside of my jar!
To make the little mini album to go inside my jar - I cut the patterned paper at 4 inches by 3 inches and I attached them together by making a fold over binding at the top.

For the cover, I used the Destination Cartridge on page 33 and cut the word art "The Strip" at 3 1/4 inches wide along with the background base for it.  I outlined the words with red stickles since this IS a  Las Vegas album and we all know there is plenty of sparkle in Vegas!

From the Indie Art Cartridge I found these cute Dice and cut them out at 2 1/2 inches high. I covered the Dots on the dice with 3D Crystal Lacquer to give them the shiny look that dice has!

I am SO HAPPY how these turned out! I just love them!
To fill my jar, I took a lot of dice in various colors and made a layer on the bottom of my jar.  I stacked some areas 2 dice high and placed a photo holder (that was a souvieneir) on top of the dice.  I inserted the little mini album I created into the photo holder.

I cut and glued a strip of black striped paper that the rosette was made of around the jar,

then glued a red ribbon on top of that.  To attach my decorative tags, I used bakers twine to tie the dice and the Nevada tag (the Nevada was cut from Destinations on page 33) to the jar.

I am very pleased with how it turned out and hope to do this for other little mini albums that I want to be a decoration as well as an album!
